HEAD GEAR SPONSOR!

With the opening race of the World Cup season approaching, I wanted to take the opportunity to announce my partnership with Polar Securities; my Head Gear Sponsor! I am very lucky to have such an amazing company supporting me and standing behind me this season, and I will work hard to make them proud!

Polar Securities was established in 1991, and is one of the earliest arrivals in the hedge fund industry. Polar has a long history and deep knowledge in the hedge fund market, which few, if any advisors can match.

"Each strategy is managed towards
achieving low volatility and absolute
returns, ensuring the preservation
of capital for our investors."- Polar Securities

However, for those of us less savvy in the business world, I believe that the personalities of this business team are truly what make it successful. As I rode the elevator to an upper floor of a Toronto building, I was excited, but I was nervous and didn't know what to expect. I am a country girl after all. Yet, as I stepped off the elevator I was immediately greeted with warmth, not only from the people, but also from the amazing art covering each wall. When I met a few members of the Polar team, I was greeted with a solid handshake and a smile, without exception. It felt as if I was welcomed in as part of the team, and I was able to relax and get to know my new supporters!

Robin Fox designed the sticker for my helmet and patch for my hats! It looks as if it was always meant to be there!

The design hits close to home for many reasons, one of which is that the name of the company, and the logo, is that of a bear. Throughout my life, the shape of a bear has become significant. First of all, when I was young, I remember my Grandpa carving fetish bears for my Grandmother out of wood. He would also inlay these bears into the bowls that he turned. Over the years this became a symbol of strength for my family as my Grandmother began wearing bear earrings and my Mom started wearing a bear on skis. Thus began my slogan of "Be The Bear", when I was a young teenager. Now, a bear is on my helmet representing Polar Securities; the fortitude of their company; and the strong relationship that is developing between their team and an advancing athlete!
