Goodbye Canmore... HELLO ZERMATT!

During my last week in Canmore my mom and Clay came to visit!

And finally the weather was nice, so we headed to Lake Louise for a "beach" day. I will now rename this day to, let's jump in freezing cold water day.

It was nice to be reunited with my mom again.

Finally that rock makes me taller! But it's an optical illusion!

It was nice to have some of my favourite people together!

Mom: "Clay I think you should put your glasses on."
Me: "Mom look at me, look at me. I'm jumping."

I doubt they will notice me until I fall in taking them with me.

After a busy weekend we decided to recover and hike Ha-Ling Peak (Picture doesn't do it justice)
Clay and I tried to look brave, but our fear of heights shone through when we had to turn around near the ledge. - Rubber legs

But the view from above Canmore was incredible!

It was an amazing last week in Canmore!

As sad as it was to leave I was happy to go home and spend some time in the warm water with my pup!

My girl's getting so big... and misbehaving enough to match her size.

However, my day at home was short lived and I quickly headed to the airport to begin our first camp on snow in....
Zermatt!

This isn't a bad view to look at while I'm spinning on the bike. My legs burn, but I don't even care!

Our first few days we couldn't ski due to wind and a broken tram, so we hit the weights!

This is the view I get to wake up to every morning!

Skiing has been amazing! We just finished our 7th day on snow and we have 3 more to go. I am learning a lot and loving the new gs ski.
I've set up my good camera on my tripod, so better pictures will be coming soon... I hope!

Voices: Summer Training Episode 2

"I'm a super model, who can dunk. Just because I'm a girl doesn't mean I have to wear a skirt. Doesn't mean I can't get all fired up."

Here's how our team gets all "fired up". Episode 2: Summer Training Eve's Edition (Eve made this great video! Good job!!)

Beautiful Life

This weekend I took part in the Gran Fondo Highwood pass. This bike ride is 147km of grueling hills and limits pushed. One sign said, "Ride it like you stole it" I decided to make that my mantra for the day. I only did a portion of the race because I am preparing to leave for Zermatt this week.
The first 30km were the fasted 30km that I have ever done in my life. I made it my goal to stay with the first peleton this year because I wasn't able to stick with the pace last year. Little did I know, this years peleton would go out of the start sprinting at a whopping 42km/h. Needless to say, one of the groups further back was probably where I should have began! My mom's boyfriend, Clay, finished the race in 5hours!

Recently dryland has been getting quite difficult. We train hard and with precision. Every movement is calculated and measured. A little while ago we had a lighter day to give our muscles time to rest and build.
MP and I decided to go on a walk to take some pictures.

MP2 I GOT SWAGG

We've been missing Anna, so we had to do a hair flip picture in her honour!

Finally we have been getting some absolutely amazing weather in Canmore!

And we have been taking full advantage of the warmth!

One night Kevin and I drove into Calgary to attend an "extended family dinner" at the boy's house. We  made our own sushi and spent some time with the Calgarians.

Last weekend Kevin and I headed to Whistler for a little vacation with Kevin's family. We toughed out some rainy days and finally got to play frisbee golf, bike and play with the dogs!

Our ride was incredible and relaxing!

And it was nice to be reunited with Kev's family!

While I was away my dad sent me this amazing picture he took at home! He does this from time to time when I am away and I love it.

While I was preparing this blog I realized that one of the pictures I took was a little bit similar to my Dad's photo.

I am leaving Canmore in a few days, which means that I am missing Kevin's birthday. We decided to celebrate early and I sent him on a bit of a scavenger hunt around town. We ended up at the lake and I gave him his birthday watch!

And we were rewarded with a spectacular view!

I wanted to share one of the recipes we tried this summer. It is from Kevin's mom's cookbook and it is incredible for dinner and as leftovers!!

I have many more videos and pictures to share with you. I will load these soon, while feet tingle to feel skis attached to them and my body waits to be on the glacier!
