Beautiful Life

This weekend I took part in the Gran Fondo Highwood pass. This bike ride is 147km of grueling hills and limits pushed. One sign said, "Ride it like you stole it" I decided to make that my mantra for the day. I only did a portion of the race because I am preparing to leave for Zermatt this week.
The first 30km were the fasted 30km that I have ever done in my life. I made it my goal to stay with the first peleton this year because I wasn't able to stick with the pace last year. Little did I know, this years peleton would go out of the start sprinting at a whopping 42km/h. Needless to say, one of the groups further back was probably where I should have began! My mom's boyfriend, Clay, finished the race in 5hours!

Recently dryland has been getting quite difficult. We train hard and with precision. Every movement is calculated and measured. A little while ago we had a lighter day to give our muscles time to rest and build.
MP and I decided to go on a walk to take some pictures.

MP2 I GOT SWAGG

We've been missing Anna, so we had to do a hair flip picture in her honour!

Finally we have been getting some absolutely amazing weather in Canmore!

And we have been taking full advantage of the warmth!

One night Kevin and I drove into Calgary to attend an "extended family dinner" at the boy's house. We  made our own sushi and spent some time with the Calgarians.

Last weekend Kevin and I headed to Whistler for a little vacation with Kevin's family. We toughed out some rainy days and finally got to play frisbee golf, bike and play with the dogs!

Our ride was incredible and relaxing!

And it was nice to be reunited with Kev's family!

While I was away my dad sent me this amazing picture he took at home! He does this from time to time when I am away and I love it.

While I was preparing this blog I realized that one of the pictures I took was a little bit similar to my Dad's photo.

I am leaving Canmore in a few days, which means that I am missing Kevin's birthday. We decided to celebrate early and I sent him on a bit of a scavenger hunt around town. We ended up at the lake and I gave him his birthday watch!

And we were rewarded with a spectacular view!

I wanted to share one of the recipes we tried this summer. It is from Kevin's mom's cookbook and it is incredible for dinner and as leftovers!!

I have many more videos and pictures to share with you. I will load these soon, while feet tingle to feel skis attached to them and my body waits to be on the glacier!
